How to talk about yourself in a job interview
Most interview nerves come from one thing: not knowing how to talk about yourself without either freezing or sounding like a brag. A little structure fixes both.
Answer "tell me about yourself" with a simple arc
Do not recite your whole life. Give a short past, present, future arc focused on what fits the role.
"I started in X, grew into Y where I did Z, and now I am looking to bring that into a role like this."
Use stories, not adjectives
Saying you are a hard worker means little. A quick story showing it means everything. For behavioral questions, use situation, action, result.
"When our launch was failing, I did X, and we recovered Y."
Own your strengths without apologizing
Confidence is just stating what is true, plainly. You do not need to shrink it or oversell it. Say it and let it stand.
Turn weaknesses into growth
Name a real one and what you are doing about it. Honesty plus a plan reads as maturity.
Have questions ready
Good questions show real interest and confidence. Ask about the team, the challenges, what success looks like.
Practice the interview out loud
Reading answers is not the same as saying them under pressure. Communication Gym lets you run a mock interview with an AI and get feedback, so you walk in ready.
